VARIABLE ACOUSTICS is the design approach of adjusting the room acoustics in a

space to best suit the performance. If a building or room is designed to accommodate

several different styles of music (acoustic or amplified), live stage performance or even

spoken word, then for the audience to hear and enjoy the performance, the room must

be properly adjusted acoustically. Most Variable Acoustic control is accomplished by

the use of flexible absorption methods which are usually composed of curtains or roll

banners using sound absorbing fabrics.

SOUND REDUCTION & INSULATION is the design approach to significantly limit the

passage of sound between two spaces either in temporary or permanent applications.

This approach is beneficial in large open spaces such as offices spaces, exhibit halls,

museums and public spaces where the possibility exists to temporarily isolate, or insulate,

both the acoustic and visual senses. It essentially creates a temporary room within a

room when needed and then can retract to open the space up when finished.
