SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE WORKPLACE DOES HAVE SOME RISKS. GOING SOCIAL ISN T AS SIMPLE AS PLUG IN THE TECHNOLOGY AND PLAY . THE CULTURE NEEDS TO BE READY, WITH A LEVEL OF OPENNESS AND TRUST THAT ENABLES EMPLOYEES TO HAVE A VOICE.

If the culture isn t ready, there could be a low level of uptake. People might not know how to use the technology or might lack the confidence to voice their opinion in front of managers.
