The centre can treat up to

35,000 tonnes of hazardous waste per year.

a new treatment unit for solid and liquid hazardous industrial waste in Germany

When it acquired the hazardous waste treatment unit on the Schkopau (Dow ValuePark®) industrial estate near Leipzig in November 2016, SUEZ became a major operator in the recovery of hazardous waste in Germany.

With its rotary kiln designed to treat this type of waste and its sludge dryer, this unit can treat the solid and liquid waste produced by Dow and other local industries in a totally environmentally-friendly manner.

At the same time, the unit incinerates the waste at high temperatures to supply up to 120,000 tonnes per year of steam to Dow and other manufacturers, as well as chlorine, which is recovered in the form of industrial hydrochloric acid.
