investment and spending on the research and development of low-carbon technologies and climatically responsible projects by 12% by 2020 (2015 baseline).

Taking action for the climate means taking action together. Supporting the transition towards a low-carbon society and mobilising other actors, and most importantly citizens, is part of our corporate responsibility. The majority of people still does not pay attention to water consumption, and behaviour varies according to the characteristics of each country and its attitudes to water. Similarly, the sorting and recycling of waste flows still need to be encouraged, because they are one of the fundamental building blocks of the circular economy. Contributing to increased awareness in a very concrete manner is part

of our commitments to the climate. We are also supporting the development of RECO® kiosks (installed in partnership with major retailers, and with the support of the Citeo eco-organisation and Nestlé Waters) to incite citizens to sort their plastic bottles using a very simple principle: consumers are rewarded for every bottle they deposit. In Europe, we are also developing e-commerce platforms and online sales solutions that optimize the recycling and recovery of household waste or of organic waste from companies.

The progress report on SUEZ s climate commitments and strategy, which are presented to the Board of Directors and a panel of stakeholders every year, are contributing to the transformation of our core activities. They are also serving the

greater good. The reduction of the carbon footprint of our activities and the Group s circular economy solutions in both water and waste are helping to fulfil the mitigation and adaptation commitments made by States and local government.
