En Australie, le fabricant de bière DB Export a adopté une autre approche, en concevant un système qui permet de broyer les bouteilles en verre en cinq petites secondes, pour les transformer à nouveau en sable. Cette solution permet de préserver la ressource en sable dans ce pays, où il est massivement utilisé par l industrie de la construction.

Glass bottles, which are made from silicon oxide, the main constituent part of sand, can be infinitely recycled. The Australian beermaker, DB Export, has adopted a new approach by designing a system to turn the glass bottles back into sand by crushing them for just 5 short seconds. This solution saves sand resources, in a country where they are used on a massive scale in the construction industry.

circul r : un tour du monde à la découverte des initiatives circulaires circul r: a world tour discovering circular initiatives

Jules Coignard et Raphaël Masvigner ont tout quitté pour se consacrer à leur projet : parcourir 22 pays pendant 17 mois pour mettre en lumière 100 initiatives circulaires. Leur but ? Promouvoir la transition circulaire et montrer que des solutions existent à tous les niveaux pour limiter notre consommation de matières premières et notre production de déchets. Revenus de leur périple fin février 2017, ils ont transformé leur expérience en start-up et ambitionnent désormais de devenir le premier réseau international de mise en relation des acteurs de l économie circulaire au niveau mondial.

Jules Coignard and Raphaël Masvigner left it all behind for their project to set off on a 17-month journey, taking in 22 countries, on the lookout for 100 circular initiatives. Their goal was to promote the circular transition and to show that solutions really exist, at every level, to reduce our consumption of raw materials and our production of waste. When they returned from their first journey at the end of February 2017, they transformed their experience into a start-up, and they now plan to become the first international network of players in the circular economy on a worldwide scale.
