The problem is relatively unknown, but crucial. The construction industry is the biggest consumer of raw materials worldwide. And only one-third of construction/demolition waste is recycled or reused. So what about improving designs, or even eco- designing buildings? And how can the use of reusable materials be promoted? How can the supply and the demand be brought together? These are the challenges that Future of Waste, a worldwide citizen s movement in favour of the prevention, reuse and recycling of waste, has included on its agenda for 2017. The community has networked innovators and citizens to share their expertise and lend concrete support to business initiatives. Future of Waste is a community programme, co-founded in 2014 by MakeSense and SUEZ.
