itself. New technologies are one source of increasingly innovative solutions. Smart irrigation, in particular, can already help to significantly reduce the water footprint of crops. On the strength of our expertise in water cycle management, we collaborate with local authorities, researchers and companies to offer farmers innovative smart irrigation , or even fertigation solutions, especially in Spain. Since we are convinced that putting organic matter back in the soil is more virtuous than using exclusively chemicals, we transform organic waste into soil amendments (compost). We recover phosphorus from our wastewater treatment plants, which we then recycle as fertilizers that replace mineral phosphates.

Limiting and recycling waste from the food processing industry

The agri-food industries face similar issues: how to produce more, while also generating less waste, consuming less water and reducing greenhouse gas emissions? With the additional imperative of satisfying consumers who have become consumactors , whose demands for food quality and security are on the rise. This need to eat better impacts the entire food chain, starting with agriculture. Players in the agri-food industry also face another challenge: to reduce their waste, including beyond their production sites, in the consumer s home.
