Urinary S/O Canine effectively dissolves struvite uroliths. In addition, an acidic urinary pH is unfavourable to the development of bacteria, which are frequently associated with struvite uroliths.

Low RSS diets encourage an undersaturated urinary environment, unfavourable to the development of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Diluting urine decreases the urinary concentration of struvites and calcium oxalate crystals. Greater urinary volumes also ensures regular bladder wash-out.

The mechanical actions of the kibble which help limit plaque are coupled with the inclusion of sodium tripolyphosphate, a calcium binder which limits availability of salivary calcium, delaying dental plaque calcification

Small breed dogs produce more concentrated urine than larger dogs, even when fed on the same diet. They are more prone to urolithiasis. In fact, 60% of all stones analysed in reference laboratories worldwide come from small breed dogs.
