East London has undergone a major transformation in the last 30 years: from the development of Canary Wharf in the early 1990s; to the regeneration of Greenwich Peninsula; and the historic investment associated with the London 2012 Olympics. Woolwich Riverside the ward in which King Henry s Dock is located is already a popular base for renters and buyers alike; between 2001 and 2011 the area saw 50% population growth. The arrival of Crossrail is set to drive further local regeneration and turn Woolwich into a serious commuter hub, particularly popular among young professionals thanks to its relative affordability. The pull of the water will drive a marked acceleration of growth once again in Woolwich Riverside, where the number of residents is set to swell by 57.9% over the ten years to 2026.
