INFRASTRUCTURE
TRANSPORTATION - Lisbon's revival has been greatly assisted by its strategic location within Europe. Warm weather, consistent sunshine and regular flights to 132 locations have made Lisbon attractive and accessible. An investment of EUR1.15 billion until 2028 to expand the current airport in Lisbon and transform the air base of Montijo into a new airport for the city will further increase Lisbon's popularity.

START-UP CULTURE - Lisbon has cemented its position as a leading tech hub within Europe over the past few years. The city's well-developed infrastructure, affordability, well-educated workforce and ideal geographical location have drawn companies from around the world. These incentives also enticed the world's largest technology convention, Web Summit, to Lisbon in 2016.
'We chose Lisbon because of the strong infrastructure in the city, the world-class venue and the thriving start-up community.' - Paddy Cosgrave, CEO and Founder of Web Summit
Web Summit will be hosted annually in Lisbon between 2016-2026 and the Portuguese government has estimated that the event will generate EUR3 billion in revenue for the city over ten years.
