The hiGh EnERGy claim refers to the ability of the product to fulfil the higher requirements of giant adult dogs (these dogs have a higher maintenance energy requirement*). The diet contains 20% lipids and provides 4088kcal/kg (calculated metabolisible energy) in order to cover these high requirements without overloading the stomach. Giant dogs are at higher risk of gastric dilatation volvulus and the restriction of meal size is one recommended preventative measure.
