Nearly half of YP said the cost of living was having a ‘large’ or ‘catastrophic’ impact on their mental
health.
One in five NEET (Not in Employment, Education
or Training) young people (YP) are applying for jobs
every day.
Over half of NEET YP say there are no good job
opportunities in their local area, and over two thirds say it is difficult to find a
job.
80% of YP aged 20-25 are ‘always’ or ‘often’ worried about earning enough.
One in ten NEETs say they left employment in the
past 12 months due to their mental health.
NEET YP have the lowest happiness and wellbeing
compared to others. Almost a third say they
have experienced a mental health problem due to
being unemployed.
