Towards the inclusion of scope 3 emissions As well as direct scope 1 and indirect scope 2 emissions, SUEZ is committed to calculating its indirect scope 3 emissions using the GHG Protocol methodology. They are assessed at 24 MtCO2e associated with product use, procurement and energy used throughout the value chain outside scopes 1 and 2, including 15 MtCO2e associated with customers heating of water distributed by the Group, on which SUEZ s levers for action are indirect. At the end of 2020, SUEZ began a methodological review of its scope 3 emissions to identify the actions needed to reduce them, including working with its main suppliers.
