Conducting the welcome call Conducting a welcome call is an important aspect of engaging your new hire. The purpose of a welcome call is to express your excitement that he/she will join your team and to answer potential questions prior to the start date. This call also gives you an opportunity to discuss the onboarding plan and to pass on essential information to get your new team member up to speed as soon as possible.
Contact your new team member shortly after he or she accepts your job offer. The call should ideally take place 1-2 weeks before the start date.
