Setting a great objective takes more thought than we often give it. Using the acronym SMART helps shape a great objective.

Once you know what you are measuring, you need to track and assess it.

In Heineken we use a set of performance and potential criteria. Using the criteria when setting objectives helps add clarity. The performance objective represents fully meets . Discuss and agree what your team member would need to do to achieve exceeds or outstanding .
