INDRA, recycling cars in the circular economy

SUEZ and Renault set up INDRA Automobile Recycling to develop a global recycling channel for the 1.8 million end-of-life vehicles (ELV) in France every year.

This joint venture proposes a global recovery service for ELVs in its 350 approved ELV centres. INDRA Automobile Recycling has acquired the regulatory (legal framework), technical (engineering and industrial processes), business (parts for reuse and secondary raw materials) and administrative (traceability) skills and knowledge required to reach the target set by the EU of recycling 95% of the weight of a vehicle.

In 2016, INDRA deconstructed 350,000 vehicles in France, contributing to a significant reduction of the consumption of the natural resources required to build new cars, while also cutting the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from their production. INDRA Automobile Recycling

reached vehicle recovery level of

95,3% in 2016.
