S
ignif icantly exceeding
the aid usually provided
to local authorities, CYCLEVIA
delivered three drums to the
islands in 2024. Two were installed
in municipal recycling facilities
at Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.
The third will be used on the
inter-island ferry to ensure
safe transport by sea. Entirely
funded by CYCLEVIA, these
long-lasting* drums are resistant
to maritime conditions and provide
a sustainable solution for private
individuals and local authorities.
*Service life: on average 40 years
when protected from the weather.

In association with local

A PLAN TO FURTHER DEVELOP THE SKILLS OF COLLECTION-TRANSFER
STATION OPERATORS
CYCLEVIA has launched an ambitious plan to improve waste oil management.
This programme, benefiting from exceptional investment, is being rolled out
in several phases. The first consists in assisting the collection-transfer station
operator Guibert Frères to ensure the development of skills, to fund a safety
advisor post and to ensure that teams receive specialised training*.
*In partnership with the EcoDDS and Batribox producer responsibility organisations.
CYCLEVIA
has been
a partner
of the town of Saint-
Pierre for three years.
It is a very successful
partnership, which has
enabled us to install
new tanks that comply
with standards
and are much
more practical.
The organisation’s
involvement
in the islands has
enabled us to set
up a truly effective
and environmentally
responsible waste oil
management system.”

thanks to its excellent geographical
coverage, will also be a very good way
of raising public awareness of the
dangers of waste and the rules for
sorting it. Initially scheduled to begin
in the f irst half of 2025, the project
had to be suspended in December
2024 due to Cyclone Chido and its
devastating consequences. As the
situation on the ground is slowly
improving, the operation has been
postponed until 2026. It should also
be complemented by the reactivation
of collection points in independent
garages and by participation in mobile
recycling units, which did not yet collect
waste oil. In total, around twenty
new locations will thus be accessible
to the people of Mayotte.
