Our inspiration comes from everywhere
Since few technologies are designed specif- ically for the construction industry, we con- tinue to take the best of what s available elsewhere and adapt it to our needs.
All the latest technologies robotics, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, virtual or augmented reality are within our reach and are already serving us today. They allow us to eliminate repetitive tasks and free up time for our people to focus on value-added activ- ities. For example, instead of analyzing plans to detect interferences, our team members can focus on finding solutions to remedy the situation.
In 2012, our adoption of building information modeling (BIM) was a turning point in the use of new technologies in all our projects. With BIM, we can plan, design, build and operate more efficiently.
INNOVATION
Spot, the Boston Dynamics robot, works alongside us every day. We were the first in the world to use it on a construction site. Right now, Spot is helping us precisely vali- date the quality and accuracy of the building against the plan, and we re helping it evolve. We first equipped it with a 360° camera, and it now has a 3D laser scanning camera that we programmed and tested in situ. The robot moves autonomously and can even go into tight spaces or those that are potentially haz- ardous for our workers.
