Collaboration is everything
W ho would have ever thought that the COVID-19 pandemic would last until 2021! We managed to adapt to this new reality, without letting it stop us. In fact, we delivered everything we d committed to: growth in every aspect, innovation, and the delivery of signa- ture projects.
Two realities exacerbated by the post-pandemic recovery hit the construction industry hard. During the last six months of 2021, hyper-infla- tion and a worsening labour shortage changed the way builders and clients operate. And we think these changes are here to stay.
Collaboration is without a doubt the common denominator of our success, both internally as well as with our clients, trade partners, com- munities, other industry players and regulatory authorities.
Financial strength driving expansion from coast to coast
For us, 2021 was another banner year, although it meant keeping up with phenomenal growth in our activities.
We doubled our sales in four years, from $1.5 billion in 2017 to $3 billion in 2021, including revenues from our subsidiary Borea Construc- tion, which continues to be a major force in Canada s renewable energy market.
Over one-third of our revenue growth and new business in the last fiscal year came from our activities in Ontario, British Columbia and the Atlantic provinces, from the simplest to the most complex buildings and civil engineering projects.
The Government of Canada selected us to manage the initial work for the redevelopment of the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre in Moncton the biggest contract in our history in this region.
Our profitability has never been so great, a testa- ment to our operational efficiency and our ability to manage growth. And our clients and partners respond in kind, continuing to offer us their collaboration and turning to us for our expertise.
Poised to build well and to build better
For several years, we ve adopted the means to match our ambitions: building more efficiently, collaboratively and sustainably out of a love for our business, for the communities where we work and for society in general.
In 2021, everything crystalized. We re ready to pursue our growth in a controlled way, to avoid putting undue pressure on our people and the business as a whole. Without ever losing sight of our agility and our desire to improve what we do.
