deliver its full potential. By proving its benefits, more and more were convinced of its relevance in delivering higher quality projects, within bud- get and on time.
Collaboration has also allowed major construc- tion companies and governments across Canada to look together for solutions to off- set the negative effects of inflation and the labour shortage, thereby ensuring the survival of businesses in this sector and maintaining healthy competition. In particular, we salute the Quebec government s openness in agreeing to insert a price-indexation clause in its contracts from here on out.
Ensuring longevity
We want to continue to be at the forefront of this collaborative movement, and to aim for economic efficiency to create an innovative and prosperous industry that is environmentally and socially responsible. We also want the com- munities where we work to come out stronger than when we started a project.
That s why we took a voluntary approach a few years ago: we examine the way we do business through the lens of sustainable development.
We published our first ESG report in spring 2022. It presents our priorities, our performance
and our ambitions in terms of environmental protection, social engagement and sound governance.
The future of the construction industry in Canada and our own future are promising. They are built on collaboration, innovation, progress and awareness. But we also know that the future is tied to the uncertainty caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, not to mention galloping inflation and global geopolitics that took a dreadful turn in February 2022.
We owe our favourable position in the market and our achievements to our employees, to their entrepreneurial spirit and their unwavering commitment; to our trade partners with whom we share a desire to deliver quality projects; to our clients who also believe in innovation; and to the members of our board of directors. Thank you for your dedication and loyalty.
During this era of great and sometimes confu- sing change, you are helping us to preserve the essence of our identity and to look after one another, now more than ever.
