E ach ground-breaking occurs on territory that we all share. We are aware of our social and environmental responsibility, and our goal is to ensure benefits for society for our employees, clients, trade partners, the communities where we work, and the environment. Sustainable development is a cornerstone of our business strategy.
Our goal is to become a leader and encourage other construction industry players to follow suit and we re taking concrete steps to make this a reality. In 2020, we updated our environ- mental policy and broadened it to include sus- tainable development. In 2021, we developed an ESG strategy around six priorities and expanded the team to implement it.
In spring 2022, we published a first ESG Report that will present our action plan and our per- formance in environmental protection, social engagement and sound governance.
Six ESG priorities
Climate change Circular economy Community relations Indigenous relations Diversity, equity and inclusion Culture of innovation
Stimulating the vitality of the communities that benefit from our projects
Our engagement means good relationships with the communities where we work and finan- cial, human and material support for charitable organizations in their region. This has been a part of our DNA from the very start.
We support the work of non-profit organizations that are building:
Future generations Healthy communities Environmental sustainability Relationships with construction
industry players
Fostering dialogue with First Nations
What do the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre in New Brunswick, the new federal building in Shawinigan, Quebec, the new justice complex in Montreal, and the Golden Ears Forcemain project in British Columbia all have in common? These are all projects in which we wanted Indigenous peoples to be real business partners as sup- pliers, subcontractors, consultants and workers.
Our goal is to build on the experience we ve gained in some 20 projects to further develop respectful and sustainable relationships with Indi- genous peoples as Charles-Étienne did with members of his project team, for example.
