individuals are dropping off : oil
volumes obviously , but also the
weight and types of containers
deposited . We have heard
and understood the limitations
and constraints expressed by
the brands . They have provided
us with concrete elements
to develop mechanisms which
are better adapted to both users
and our partners in the future

CYCLEVIA joined forces with brands from Mobivia group ( Carter - Cash , Norauto
and Midas ) to put in place 21 new collection points for waste oil and its soiled
packaging in four regions in France . This experiment , set out in the producer
responsibility organisation ’ s specif ications , enabled a local level solution to be
tested in real conditions in addition to municipal recycling facilities .

In 2025 , CYCLEVIA conf irmed the sector ’ s solid results in terms
of treatment : 229 , 000 net tonnes of waste oil were delivered
to treatment facilities , for a regeneration / recycling rate of
86 . 6 % . Behind these figures , the implication of collection -
transfer station and treatment operators , overseen and
oriented by the producer responsibility organisation , remains
a determining factor . Furthermore , CYCLEVIA is continuing its
actions to encourage increased circularity . Extension of the call
for projects to establish a regeneration facility in France , work on
regenerated base oils … These ef forts ref lect a same ambition :
to make waste oil a resource .

Following a f irst operation of this kind in Guadeloupe between 2023 and
2024 , CYCLEVIA adapted its mechanism to correspond to the context in
mainland France with three major vehicle maintenance and equipment
brands . Between June and December 2025 , 21 voluntary drop - of f
points were installed in the car parks of participating centres in the
Hauts - de - France , Île - de - France , Grand Est and PACA regions , with the
aim of proposing a collection solution better corresponding to the uses
of private individuals .
Initiated , f inanced and steered by CYCLEVIA , this unprecedented experi
-
ment in mainland France enabled 56 tonnes of waste oil and 6 . 4 tonnes
of soiled packaging to be collected over a six - month period . It also led
to the identif ication of 3 . 9 tonnes of non - compliant deposits . Chimirec
was responsible for collecting containers and transporting this hazardous
waste , which was then regrouped , sorted and oriented towards regener -
ation in the case of waste oil and towards energy generation in the case
of non - compliant deposits and packaging .
The experiment conf irmed the existence of volumes needing to be
collected , but also the limits of the mechanism in the form tested . The
three brands stressed that it was complex to manage for their teams :
monitoring collection points , site safety measures , overseeing evacuation ,
non - compliant deposits or the risk of damages to car parks . In addition ,
the rate of use varied depending on the site , sometimes geographically
distanced from the public target , with massive deposits by professionals .
Within these conditions , the brands did not wish to pursue the experi -
ence .
For CYCLEVIA , whilst the volumes collected were highly encouraging ,
this assessment also enabled to determine the conditions for better
adapted collection at local level : training of operational teams , reactive
management of waste evacuations , targeted monitoring and communi -
cation By conf irming the need for concrete solutions in the f ield and by
shedding light on the necessary adjustments the operation constituted
a tangible and reliable basis to assist with designing future solutions
