In 2025 41 new local authorities signed up with CYCLEVIA conf irming

a positive trend in membership This growth is mainly due to the

responsibility organisation through meetings with local authorities

the provision of information materials and support for teams

understanding

the territories

with Rudologia

On May   15

th

, 2025 , an unprecedented waste oil collection op -

eration was conducted on Sein Island , 23   kilometres of f the

coast of Brittany . Implemented in conjunction with SARP Ouest

collection services and local elected representatives , this operation

enabled the evacuation of 2 . 5   tonnes of waste oil accumulated on

the island , namely from oil changes on recreational boats , works

machinery , tractors and the municipal technical centre . Previously

stored in containers which were often damaged , sometimes in

zones prone to f looding , this waste oil represented a risk to both

the environment and health . After its reconditioning , it was safely

transported via Audierne port , then regrouped at the Guilers depot

before being sent on to an adapted treatment facility .

Initially a de - bottlenecking operation , CYCLEVIA will now cover the

future costs of collecting and transporting this waste on a regular

basis , guaranteeing a cost - free service for the town hall and laying

the basis for periodic waste oil management on the island .

On January   23

th

, 2025 , CYCLEVIA took

part in the 18

th

AMORCE Conference ,

which focused on waste collection un -

der the extended producer responsi -

bility scheme . This is the raison d ’ être of

producer responsibility organisations and

a key issue for local authorities , which are

called upon to roll out solutions on the

ground that improve waste management

as closely as possible to the public .

These discussions provided an opportu -

nity to highlight how these roles comple -

ment one another Producer responsibility

organisations are responsible for organ

ising funding and improving collection

and treatment systems Local authorities

meanwhile are responsible for providing

information raising awareness and sup

porting their local implementation CYCLE

VIA also presented its latest developments

its transition to a mixed EPR scheme and

the future inclusion of oil sales packaging

within its scope of responsibility

CYCLEVIA continued to participate in

the speed meetings organised by Rudo -

logia . After Rouen in April , Aix - en - Provence

in June and Limoges in July , teams from the

producer responsibility organisation were

present in Nancy , then in Paris at the end

of the year , before a video - conference

session dedicated to Reunion Island . These

meetings are a chance for CYCLEVIA to pres -

ent its expertise , exchange on the stakes

of the waste oil sector and promote its

Ma collecte solution . But f irst and foremost ,

they are a time to really listen . Thanks to

this direct contact with local authority rep -

resentatives , the producer responsibility

organisation is better able to understand

their needs , their constraints and the ex -

pectations of every territory .
