Measuring and reducing our Scope 3 emissions, in particular
those generated by materials and by our suppliers of goods,
services and materials, are two essential prerequisites for
delivering sustainable projects.
Consequently, we’re evaluating and measuring our emissions
so that we can have a comprehensive picture and set specif ic
objectives to reduce the most signif icant emission sources
across our value chain.
By 2024, all the emissions generated by our strategic suppliers
will be monitored annually with the goal of measuring their
emissions, orienting our decisions and incentivizing these
suppliers of goods and services to take the necessary steps
to reduce their carbon footprint.
As one of the f irst construction companies to be a member
of the Canada Green Building Council we have considerable
expertise in delivering sustainable projects and seeking
certif ications such as LEED Zero Carbon and Passive House
These projects have a positive impact on our Scope 3 carbon
footprint Examples include choosing materials with a low
carbon footprint right from the design phase of the project
combined with energy eff iciency and sound management
of endoflife residual materials
Given the growing demand for this in the industry we now
have more than 190 projects that are certif ied or seeking
certif ication in sustainable construction under our belt In
2022 alone 36 of our active projects

and 65 of our
active building projects

thats a 14 increase compared
with 2021are certif ied sustainable or in the process of
being certif ied
In response to this trend our teams of experts in energy
eff iciency and sustainable construction grew from 30 members
in 2021 to 37 members in 2022 We also count on the
expertise of more than 45 employees with active professional
certif ication including several LEED and Envision experts
to lead these f lagship projects
In 2022 we won 13 mandatesmore than double the number
from the preceding yearin which the design and work are
planned around reducing the carbon footprint This illustrates
the importance decarbonizing is taking in our industry and
for our clients
We want to increase the construction of buildings that are
certif ied sustainable or highly energy eff icient to accelerate
the transition to a lowcarbon economy To achieve this were
investing time and effort in disseminating this expertise at
every level by focussing above all on training our teams
In 2022 75 employees received training in energy eff iciency
renewable energy and sustainable construction Thats 436
hours that were offered to our teams on the issues and
opportunities that the ecological transition presents for
ourindustry
