We made a $15,000 donation to Tree Canada to support
the Grow Clean Air program which seeks to support best
practices in forest management led by coastal First Nations
communities living in the Great Bear Rainforest located
on the north and central coasts of British Columbia and in
HaidaGwaii
This 64 millionhectare forest is home to a highly diverse mix of
old growth trees mammals birds plants and abundant marine
life The First Nations ecosystembased forest management
practices prevent the release of the carbon that the trees
have already sequestered and that they continue to store
This project enables communities to sell carbon credits and
generate revenue to create jobs in sustainable sectors and
protect their traditional territories
A partnership
for carbon sequestration
Adoption of
a carbon sink
investment plan
In 2022 we invested 36000 out of our 40000 goal To
reach our goal well develop a plan to conserve and use
carbon sinks as a lever for the ecological transition
This decision to invest in the conservation and development of
natural systems that absorb more carbon from the atmosphere
than they release is enabling us to contribute to a net
zero world and ensure the conservation of biodiverserich
environments
