When we carry out work that could pose a risk to the environment, as in the case of the reconstruction of the Gouin Bridge in Saint-Jean- sur-Richelieu, we take care to put in place a series of measures. These include close monitoring of the treatment of discharged water and management of contaminated soil, to ensure we do everything pos- sible to protect local fish habitats.
When Ontario s Trenton 1 and Glen Miller 3 dams were replaced, and the Glen Miller lock 3 was rehabilitated, we used temporary dikes and an excavation and drilling water treatment system to maintain water quality in the environment and protect aquatic life.

Improving the environmental performance of project sites
1,294 employees received training on environmental protection, for a total of 2,534 hours of training.
We have also implemented a robust and agile environmental mana- gement system (EMS) and we are aiming for ISO 14001:2015 certifi- cation in 2022. Our EMS ensures consistency in our management practices, and contributes to the continuous improvement of our ope- rations, including environmental monitoring of our project sites:
61% of projects were subject to quarterly environmental inspections.
33% of them were subject to weekly environmental inspections, of which 70% were carried out by an environmental specialist.
In order to harness the intelligence of data for the benefit of our operational knowledge, we rely on ArcGIS software to map environmental data and visualize potential issues located near our projects. We are working to develop a dashboard where various environmental data would be imported, to ensure informed decision- making and to mitigate risks on our projects.
