Glossary Building Information Modelling
BIM is a collaborative approach to producing and managing information on a construction project, based on using a 3D model to design, build, and operate infrastructure.
International Organization for Standardization
An independent organization that brings together experts to develop voluntary international standards in various fields, such as in corruption prevention (ISO 37001), environmental management systems (ISO 14000), quality management (ISO 9000), etc.11
Some ISO standards require certification; those that do not are international standards that companies can align themselves with.
Sustainable Development Goal
In 2015, the United Nations presented 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as key issues that serve as a call to action to all stakeholders in society, worldwide, in the aim of developing a world that is more fair and more environmentally responsible. 12
Sustainability Accounting Standards Board
SASB standards identify, by industry and business sector, the risks and opportunities related to sustainable development that are most likely to affect a company's financial situation. 13 SASB ensures data comparability to advocate for the use of metric data to support responsible investment decisions.
Environment, Social and Governance
The term ESG most often refers to a company s performance in terms of environmental, social, and governance factors, and the risks or opportunities that they may present for a company.
Greenhouse Gas
In the present context, GHG is used in reference to pollutants emitted into the atmosphere through human and industrial activities, which contribute to climate change issues. 9
Global Reporting Initiative
The GRI is an internationally recognized benchmark that offers standards that companies can draw on to support their resolve to voluntarily disclose non-financial information10. GRI standards aim to communicate information about subjects that have been identified as important during prior consultations with company stakeholders.
