This report covers the construction and administrative activities of Pomerleau Inc. through its three business units (Quebec Building Operations, Canadian Building Operations, and Civil and Infra- structure) which are present in seven regions across Canada (At- lantic, Saint- Georges, Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver). Pomerleau subsidiaries are not included in the per- formance indicators of this report.
Pomerleau employs 4,000 people annually. By way of reference, we designate as our employees any person employed by us. Our ad- ministrative employees are paid on an annual basis, as are our superintendents and prevention officers; there are a total of 1,671 such employees.
Our site employees represent those paid by the hour, and the term workers designates all people working on sites where Pomerleau acts as project manager, whether they are employed by Pomerleau or by our specialized partners.
Given their nature, some indicators for specific personnel-related performance include only certain categories of employees, as is shown in the Performance Summary data tables in the Appendix.
The ESG performance of our specialist partners has not been con- sidered in this report.
Pomerleau project sites or Pomerleau projects refer to all construction activities in which Pomerleau is engaged, regardless of the contractual structure, unless otherwise indicated. Joint venture projects in which Pomerleau Inc. participates are included in the performance indicators if Pomerleau Inc. is mandated to carry out the work, in which case they are considered Pomerleau projects.
The inventory of greenhouse gas emissions was carried out according to the GHG Protocol, using the operational control approach to determine the scope of the inventory. Joint venture projects are not included in the inventory. Our circular economy data and calculations are based on the residual materials generated on our work sites where Pomerleau holds a contractual obligation with its client to manage the said materials. In these cases, complete data on the production of residual materials are available, regardless of which party contracted the supplier.
