HEALTH AND SAFETY

Our Performance in 2024

At worksites, over 24,000 interactions were carried

out—open conversations that prompt workers to ref lect on safe

behaviours and ensure that everyone understands high-risk

situations. We also introduced new helmets and cut-resistant

gloves at all our sites.

Training remains a priority. We offered over 6,000 hours of

training sessions to our administrative service teams and

over 41,000 hours to our workers, for a total investment of

$368,000. We launched our new Builder Training Program to

a f irst cohort of 20 people. The program aims to strengthen

the capacity of worksite supervisors to take charge of OHS.

To support our growth, we strengthened our OHS Excellence

Centre, created in 2023, which now has eight experts after the

addition of f ive new resources in 2024. These experts work

closely with project teams and senior management to imple-

ment the industry’s best practices, while taking on concrete

responsibilities: create prevention programs, develop training

programs, oversee certif ication processes, conduct inter-

nal audits and leading investigations in the event of serious

injuries. This integrated approach guarantees that health and

safety remain a priority at every stage of our projects.

The results are encouraging: our accident rate has dropped

by 8% among our own worksite employees and 32% among

those of our trade partners. Even more notable, we’ve seen a

78% decrease in the frequency of serious injuries or fatalities

(SIFs), compared with 2023.

Our improvements stem from a massive investment in pre-

vention and the individual engagement of our Executive

Committee members. Our regional leaders are also actively

engaged in serious injury analysis and follow-up on correc-

tive measures. We also adopted the High-Energy Control

Assessments (HECA) model, an innovative method to assess

whether frontline workers are adequately protected against

potentially fatal hazards, with over 50 members of the OHS

team trained in this approach.
