Our Performance in 2024
To speed up our progress, we’ve adopted an initial target:
diverting 70% of residual materials from landf ills in 2025. This
is a step that will allow us to mobilize our teams and ref lects
our commitment to exploring innovative recovery solutions to
meet our clients’ increasing expectations.
On another front, the insights we gathered through our sur-
vey of our strategic suppliers gave us a clearer picture of their
sustainable development approach. This is an opportunity to
strengthen collaboration and align our common objectives—
namely, reduce our projects’ carbon footprint. We hope to sup-
port them in improving their own practices so that, together,
we can move towards more responsible solutions.
In 2024, closer collaboration with our waste management
suppliers brought us unprecedented visibility in terms of the
volumes generated and how they were processed. All of our
worksites combined generated 37,801 tons of residual materials,
down 36% compared with 2023. Our overall landf ill diversion
rate dropped from 76% in 2023 to 72% in 2024. Note that pro-
jects aiming for sustainable certif ication, which are included in
the overall performance, achieved even better results, with a
diversion rate of 77%, due to stricter certif ication requirements.
How do we explain these variations? For the most part, it’s
the way a project progresses and the varying nature of the
materials generated at the different construction phases.
Most of our current worksites began operating before 2024
and have reached fairly advanced phases, during which the
types of residual materials generated changes: there are fewer
concrete residues—a virtually 100% recyclable material—and
more materials with a lower recovery potential. The numbers
say it all: concrete represented 47% of our waste in 2023,
compared with only 34% in 2024.
