Inventory of our GHG emissions
→ Green value chain → Climate change
Following our f irst inventory, we’ve put in place several initiatives
to decarbonize our operations in the coming years.
We have improved our processes to account for our emissions. We
discovered some blind spots, which means that some of our emis-
sions were not taken into account in 2021. Consequently, we’ve
updated our 2021 inventory and the intensity of our emissions. Our
reduction target is still anchored in 2021 as our reference year.
Our Scope 1 and 2 emissions rose to 43,123 tons in 2022, an increase
of 16,667 compared with 2021. This is due to the greater number of
active sites
1
in 2022 (177) compared with 2021 (152), as well as to
the increase in our natural gas consumption on several sites.
These elements also affect the intensity of our GHG emissions
compared with our revenue. In 2022, we emitted 14.21 tons of CO
2
e
per million dollars of revenue.
To counter this increase and move toward achieving our reduction
target, we are pursuing our plan to decarbonize our operations.
This year, we’re starting to progressively report on our Scope 3
emissions. These represent 925 tons of CO
2
e and correspond to
our business travel, including hotel stays as well as ground and air
travel by our employees.
In the coming years, we plan to extend the calculation and reporting
on our Scope 3 emissions to other emission sources.
1. Active sites refer to sites where construction has begun. This f igure is used to measure the environmental performance of our operations.
