Hiring an employee
specialized in the
circular economy
→ Green value chain → Circular economy
A new employee was hired to speed up the progress of our
circular economy plan. His mission is to develop and roll out
initiatives to bring us closer to our goals. He works in colla-
boration with our internal teams and our suppliers to develop
opportunities to divert materials through the reduction, reuse,
recycling and recovery of residual materials.
Giving materials
a second life
On the site of the Haleco project in Montreal, we worked with
two partners to give several materials a new life. Following the
deconstruction of buildings on the site, several components,
including faucets, hardware and doors, were given to Architec-
ture sans frontières, an organization that helps communities
around the world affected by natural or other disasters and
social inequalities. We also collaborated with arborists and
the Centre de valorisation du bois urbain, a social economy
enterprise, to ensure the transformation of ash trees that had
been cut into hardwood f looring.
We rely on the creation of partnerships to develop and deploy
innovative solutions with the goal of accelerating the integra-
tion of circular practices on our sites. In 2022, we worked with
La Factry to develop circular economy solutions on a project.
We also participated in the f irst cohort of the Programme d’in-
novation accélérée en cocréation (PIAC – accelerated innova-
tion program in co-creation), coordinated by the f irm inBe, in
collaboration with the engineering consulting f irm CIMA+ and
the concrete supplier Lafarge. This program seeks to develop
new possibilities for reusing concrete. The f irst outcomes
of this challenge will be known next year and could create
options for higher value-added recovery for the industry.
