A tool to manage
the impact of our projects
on communities
Identif ication
of Indigenous
stakeholders
→ Collective prosperity → Community relations
In 2021, we created a tool to manage and mitigate the poten-
tial impacts of our projects on neighbouring communities
with the goal of carrying out projects that are better rooted
in communities. With this tool, we can proactively assess
the environmental, social, economic and work site risks at
various stages of our projects. This means that we can take
a preventive approach by recommending mitigation mea-
sures to maintain healthy relationships with our clients and
the communities involved. In 2022, we deployed this tool on
three pilot projects.
With the help of ArcGIS, we mapped Indigenous communities
and territories across Canada to gain a better understanding
of the stakeholders affected by a project and to maximize
their participation in our construction activities.
We’re now pursuing this exercise with other stakeholders
involved in our construction projects to a forge a deeper
connection with the communities where we work.
