To mark the centenary of its founding and pay tribute
to its deep , long - standing connection to China , Loro
Piana held its first - ever exhibition at the Museum of
Art Pudong ( MAP ) in Shanghai in the first half of 2025 .
Entitled If You Know , You Know : Loro Piana ’ s Quest for
Excellence , the retrospective presented the Maison ’ s
history , expert craftsmanship and unique six - generation
family legacy . Curated by Judith Clark , If You Know , You
Know invited visitors to explore Loro Piana ’ s singular
heritage through an immersive exhibition showcasing
the exceptional materials on which the Maison has
built its renown , from raw fibers to finished garments .
Honored to be the first luxury house showcased in the
state - of - the - art galleries of MAP – recognized for its
extraordinary program of cultural exchange – Loro
Piana sought to tell its story in a new way , using current
museum and exhibition design practices to harness
both documentary and sensory modes of display . The
retrospective featured artworks from the Sergio and
Maria Luisa Loro Piana Collection and the Pinacoteca
di Varallo , highlighting the interconnectedness of art ,
nature and exceptional craftsmanship .
Spanning over 1 , 000 square meters across three gal -
leries and 15 rooms , the exhibition reflected the
Maison ’ s core values , creating a harmonious dialogue
between rare materials , historical archives and exquisite
textile designs .
The experience included interactive installations and
sensory landscapes presenting the origins of Loro
Piana ’ s most precious fibers , with each one woven into
a spectacular silhouette – the culmination of the Maison ’ s
meticulous craftsmanship and never - ending quest
for innovation . One such installation presented
the Maison ’ s rigorous quality control process , letting
visitors examine Baby Cashmere fiber under a powerful
microscope , magnified by a factor of 35 , 000 . The
journey ended with a tribute to Valsesia – the valley in
Italy where Loro Piana was founded – featuring an
immersive film installation and a presentation of the
Maison s archives retracing its history since 1924
