Use rather than ownership: this is the credo of the sharing economy, against the backdrop of ever scarcer resources. From car-sharing to communal gardens, individuals who lend one another everyday objects and bartering: the sharing economy is not limited to large corporations, but also includes a multitude of initiatives on a local scale.

Neighbourhoods or entire towns that share their resources and build alternative models represent an underlying trend that can be seen all over the world. Shareable, an NGO founded in the United States in 2009, aims to federate all local players and initiators of this new vision of urban life. SUEZ went to meet them.

villes de demain, villes du partage ? L usage plutôt que la propriété : tel est le credo de l économie du partage, dans un contexte marqué par la raréfaction des ressources. Covoiturage, jardins communautaires, prêts entre particuliers d objets de tous les jours, troc l économie du partage ne se limite pas à quelques grandes entreprises, mais est portée par une multitude d initiatives à l échelle locale.

La mobilisation d habitants d un quartier ou d une ville pour partager des ressources et construire des modèles alternatifs est une tendance de fond que l on observe partout dans le monde. Fédérer tous les acteurs et les initiatives locales porteurs d une nouvelle vision collaborative de la vie urbaine, c est l ambition de Shareable, une association née aux États-Unis en 2009. SUEZ est allé à sa rencontre.
