On May 2 , 2024 , bremenports hosted
the inaugural training session for the
Centre of Expertise , focusing on
strengthening inland waterway
transport in Bremerhaven . Led by
intern Annalena Schmid , who
researched the topic for her Bachelor
thesis , the session presented future
scenarios and recommendations for
enhancing inland shipping .
Annalena s analysis highlighted the
potential of inland shipping and the
necessity for regional support to
boost competitiveness addressing
challenges like limited water side
infrastructure . The session emphasized
integrating inland waterway transport
into existing logistics and promoting
eco - friendly options .
The program included an
introduction to bremenports ,
Annalena ' s presentation , a Q & A , and
concluding discussions . This training
marked the first of many planned
sessions to share insights from the
InnoWaTr project and foster
collaboration among stakeholders for
a modal shift in freight transport

The first training of the Center of Expertise , scheduled for May 02 , 2024 ,
featured a presentation by Annalena Schmid , an intern at bremenports , on
the topic of " Development perspectives and approaches for strengthening
inland waterway transport in Bremerhaven . " Annalena conducted research
on this subject for her Bachelor thesis . The partners were encouraged to
participate and engage in the discussions .
