FFC8 , the French Freight Flow Coalition , focuses on promoting low -

emission propulsion for barges along the River Seine , particularly

through the integration of hydrogen and renewable energy in inland

waterway transport in the city centre of Paris .

The pilot will first upgrade the diesel engine of the ZULU 03 barge and

subsequently test the ZULU 06 with hydrogen fuel cell technology . This

initiative aims to demonstrate the transition to cleaner vessel engines

and create a roadmap for future applications in line with anticipated

regulations .
