We feel that a collaborative approach to

inland waterway transport ( IWT ) is

needed to encourage the uptake of

innovations in the sector and to foster its

environmental friendliness even further to

the ambitious EU - targets of „ Fit - 4 - 55 “ .

For this , the EU - funded Interreg - project

„ InnoWaTr “ showcased eight real - life

experiments in inland shipping that

combine organisational and technical

innovations , called Freight Flow

Coalitions .

This document summarises what we did in

InnoWaTr and extrracts our experience

gained when implementing our Freight

Flow Coalitions .

It has been drawn up with companies ,

municipalities or other organisations in

mind to copy and paste InnoWaTr ´ s

approach in their respective cities or

regions .
